Building Strong Corporate Foundations for Growing Businesses

At JY Corporate Services Sdn. Bhd. (JYCS), we believe that professional corporate support is not only about fulfilling statutory requirements. Business owners need clear guidance, organised company secretarial processes and a trusted professional who understands the practical challenges of running and growing a company in Malaysia.

This belief is reflected in the professional journey of our Founder and Principal, Jegajothy Jeganantham (Jothy), an Associate Member of The Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) and a holder of a valid practising certificate issued by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM).

With more than 20 years of experience in corporate secretarial practice, corporate governance and regulatory compliance, Jothy has supported entrepreneurs, SMEs, companies (e.g. Sdn. Bhd.), foreign-owned companies and established businesses in managing their corporate responsibilities, maintaining statutory compliance and building proper governance foundations.

A Journey Built Through Practical Corporate Secretarial Experience

Jothy began her career in corporate secretarial practice, supporting businesses with their statutory requirements, corporate documentation and day-to-day SSM compliance matters. Over the years, she has worked closely with business owners, company directors and shareholders to assist them with company incorporation in Malaysia, changes in company structure, regulatory filings and ongoing corporate administration.

Through managing a diverse portfolio of companies, Jothy gained a first-hand understanding of the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and SMEs, from completing Sdn. Bhd. registration correctly to maintaining statutory registers, meeting filing deadlines and making informed corporate decisions as their businesses grow.

Her experience has been shaped by years of handling real corporate situations, including changes in shareholding, director appointments and resignations, corporate restructuring, preparation of corporate documents and compliance matters that companies encounter throughout their business lifecycle.

Experience Supporting Businesses at Different Stages

Throughout her career, Jothy has managed and supported more than 500 companies, including Malaysian and foreign-owned companies across various industries. Her experience covers businesses at different stages, from newly incorporated companies and growing SMEs to established organisations with more structured corporate governance and compliance requirements.

Her areas of experience include:

  • Company incorporation (e.g. Sdn. Bhd.) registration in Malaysia
  • Company secretary services and statutory compliance
  • Corporate governance advisory
  • Preparation of directors’ and shareholders’ resolutions
  • Share allotments and share transfers
  • Annual return filings and SSM regulatory submissions
  • Maintenance of statutory registers, corporate records and company documentation
  • Corporate restructuring and changes in company information
  • Ongoing company secretarial, compliance and governance support.

Having worked closely with directors, shareholders, auditors, lawyers, tax advisers, bankers and regulatory authorities, Jothy understands the importance of providing practical corporate guidance that helps businesses remain compliant with their statutory obligations while allowing owners to focus on their business operations.

Exposure to Structured Corporate Governance Practices

During her career with established corporate advisory firms, Jothy gained exposure to corporate secretarial matters involving publicly listed companies and their subsidiaries.

This experience provided valuable insight into structured corporate governance practices, board processes, regulatory requirements and corporate reporting standards. It also strengthened her ability to apply good governance principles in a practical manner for private limited companies and growing businesses.

While governance and compliance requirements may differ depending on the size and complexity of a company, Jothy believes that every business benefits from having proper corporate structures, clear statutory documentation and sound compliance practices from the beginning.

A Practical Approach to Company Secretarial and Corporate Support

Many business owners view company secretarial and SSM compliance matters as complicated administrative responsibilities. Jothy believes that effective corporate support should provide clarity, reduce compliance risks and help business owners and directors make better-informed decisions.

Through JYCS, she works with clients by providing:

  • Clear explanations of statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Guidance on corporate changes, SSM filings and compliance matters
  • Proper preparation and maintenance of corporate and statutory documents
  • Timely reminders regarding important filings and statutory obligations
  • Practical recommendations based on each company’s circumstances

Her approach is focused on making corporate and statutory compliance more understandable and manageable, especially for entrepreneurs and SMEs that may not have dedicated internal company secretarial or compliance resources.

Leadership and Professional Commitment

Throughout her career, Jothy has held senior management roles where she managed large client portfolios, led corporate secretarial teams, trained and mentored employees, and improved operational processes to enhance professional service delivery.

Her experience in managing teams and corporate operations has also given her a strong understanding of the importance of consistency, efficiency and service quality in corporate secretarial practice.

Jothy continues to maintain her professional development through ongoing training and continuing professional education, ensuring that her knowledge remains aligned with current corporate governance standards, SSM requirements and regulatory obligations under the Companies Act 2016.

Her professional values are built around reliability, confidentiality, attention to detail and providing clients with dependable company secretarial and corporate compliance support throughout their corporate journey.

“A journey of learning, unlearning, and becoming.”
